Position Description

The School of Mathematical Sciences at Zhejiang University invites applications for both tenure-track and tenured positions in all areas of mathematics. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree in mathematics, with at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience in principle, and demonstrate outstanding accomplishments and promises in both research and teaching.

The salary the School offers is merit-based, negotiable, and internationally competitive. Teaching responsibilities are light, especially for early-career faculty members, allowing them to dedicate their time to mathematical research. The School also provides genereous start-up funding as well as assistance with grant applications to support the member's career development. In addition, faculty members may be eligible for the University's housing subsidy programs.

The deadline for applications for tenure-track positions is November 15, 2026 (applications submitted after the deadline might be considered but not guaranteed). Applications for tenured positions shall be accepted on a rolling basis with no specific deadlines. Candidates for tenure-track positions should furnish a placement dossier consisting of 

• a cover letter 
• a curriculum vitae 
• a research statement 
• a teaching statement 
• three letters of recommendation addressing research (to be provided directly by the referees).

Chinese language proficiency is not a requirement and teaching may be conducted in English.
