The Department of Mathematics at University of Evansville invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2026.Responsibilities
The successful applicant will teach approximately 24 credit hours of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses during the 2026-2027 academic year and actively contribute to departmental activities. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and advising undergraduates.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold, or be near completion of, a Ph.D. (or ABD status) in statistics, data science, or a closely related field OR a Ph.D. (or ABD status) in mathematics plus significant experience in statistics or a related field is required. Documented excellence in teaching undergraduate math or statistics courses is expected. Additional desirable qualifications include experience with computer programming, proficiency in or familiarity with R and/or Python, knowledge of big data methodologies and machine learning techniques.
