I. Xidian University

Xidian University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. II. Institute of Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences

The Institute of Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences is established on the strength of the university's leading disciplines such as information and communication engineering, computer science and technology, cyberspace security, and artificial intelligence, focusing on cutting-edge research in pure and applied mathematics.

Key Development Directions

1. Field of Applied MathematicsBased on the current development status of the University and in light of the practical demands of information-related disciplines, priority will be given to the development of the following subfields of applied mathematics: Information Theory, Coding and Cryptography, Mathematical Foundations of Signal Processing, Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science, Mathematical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, and Mathematical Foundations of Statistics and Data Science.

2. Field of Pure MathematicsLeveraging the development opportunities of applied mathematics, we will vigorously recruit talents in the field of pure mathematics, covering specialties in analysis (functional analysis, harmonic analysis, stochastic analysis, etc.), algebra (homological algebra, algebraic K-theory, number theory, representation theory of algebras, etc.), geometry and topology (differential geometry, algebraic topology, differential topology, etc.), and algebraic geometry. We will also plan and develop corresponding research directions to shore up the weak links in pure mathematics research.

1. Overseas Excellent Youth Program: Highly competitive annual salaryoffering higher annual salary than other "Four Young Talent" programsplus performance-based remuneration; a settling-in allowance of RMB 600,000 with talent housing provided; generous research start-up funding, including national allocated funds of RMB 1–3 million plus university matching funds at a ratio of no less than 1:1.

2. Other "Four Young Talent" Programs: Annual salary of RMB 700,000 plus performance-based remuneration; a settling-in allowance of RMB 400,000 with talent housing provided; research start-up funding of RMB 1–2 million.

3. Huashan Scholar Distinguished Professor: Starting annual salary of RMB 550,000; the university provides generous settling-in allowance, research start-up funding and housing subsidy.

4. Huashan Scholar Elite Professor: Annual salary of RMB 350,000 plus performance-based remuneration; the university provides corresponding settling-in allowance, research start-up funding and housing subsidy.

5. Huashan Scholar Elite Associate Professor: Annual salary of RMB 300,000 plus performance-based remuneration; the university provides corresponding settling-in allowance, research start-up funding and housing subsidy.

6. Postdoctoral Fellows: Remuneration is delivered under the "basic salary + supporting funds" model, with a starting annual package of RMB 300,000.

IV. Talent Support Policies of Xidian University Hangzhou Research Institute

1. Overseas Excellent Youth Program: Highly competitive annual salary plus performance-based remuneration [RMB 1 million per year for the first three years, RMB 750,000 per year for the following three years]; a total settling-in subsidy of RMB 2.6 million from the national, provincial, municipal authorities and the Hangzhou Research Institute; research start-up funding with a 1:1 matching ratio.
