ND Math Chair ad 2026-2027
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, is accepting applications for an endowed senior chair in Mathematics, which is expected to be filled this year.
Position description
The successful candidate for this position will be an internationally recognized scholar of mathematics with an outstanding record of success. We are seeking exceptionally strong candidates in all areas of research to apply. The successful candidate should have a research program that is driving breakthroughs and advances in their area, and should be a leader in furthering the research, teaching, and service missions of the Department of Mathematics and the University of Notre Dame.
Position duties include conducting research, teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and engaging in service. The teaching load in the Department of Mathematics is competitive. The position is expected to begin in July of 2027. Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Qualifications
Candidates will be appointed at the full professor level and must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field, or an equivalent qualification.
