Position Description

The Connecticut College Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistics position beginning July 1, 2027. Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, or a closely related field; ABD (All But Dissertation) candidates will also be considered.

The teaching load will be four courses during the first academic year and five courses beginning in the second academic year. The department offers both a major and a minor in Statistics and Data Science. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of statistics courses offered by the department, and may have the opportunity to develop new courses. Here is the list of courses in the major that the department regularly offers.

Priority will be given to applications submitted by November 15, 2026. Applicants should submit:

a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, copies of graduate transcripts, three letters of recommendation (including at least one addressing teaching), a teaching statement, and a research statement.
