Position Description
The Rutgers Mathematics Department offers various postdoctoral positions in Mathematics. These include several Hill or Triennial Assistant Professorships, which are three-year non-tenure track, non-renewable, Post-Doctoral Research instructorships. Subject to availability of funding, the Department expects to have several of these positions that will start in Fall of 2027. Hill Assistant Professorships carry a teaching load of three single-semester courses per year, while Triennial Assistant Professorships carry a teaching load of four single-semester courses per year. Candidates should have received a Ph.D. by the time the position starts, and show outstanding promise of research ability in pure or applied mathematics as well as a capacity for effective teaching. In addition, various postdoctoral research positions may become available, which may or may not carry teaching responsibilities. All job offers are contingent upon successful pre-employment background screening prior to commencement of employment. The academic year salary for a postdoctoral fellow will not be less than $63,968 based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement between the faculty union (AAUP-AFT) and Rutgers University.
