Assistant Professor The Department of Mathematics at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant
Professor, to begin in Fall 2019. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics by August 2019. Candidates must have a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and master’s level and a commitment to research. We are looking for candidates who are compatible with existing research areas as well as those who can broaden the scope of the department. The usual teaching load is three courses per semester. Applicants are encouraged to visit the departmental web site at www.uttyler.edu/math to learn more about the university and department. Applications must be submitted through mathjobs.org and should include a letter of application, curriculum vitae, statements of teaching philosophy and research program, unofficial transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. At least one recommendation letter should address teaching. Please indicate in your cover letter if you will be attending the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Baltimore. Review of applications will begin November 30, 2018. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
