The Faculty of Science and the Mathematical Institute are looking for the inaugural 

Edixhoven Postdoctoral Fellow (0.8-1.0 fte)

The Mathematical Institute of Leiden University is inviting applications for the inaugural Edixhoven Postdoctoral Fellowship. We are looking for talented individuals, with a promising early track record in mathematical research and an ambitious research plan. We are open to any research areas that fit well within the institute. Candidates from groups that are currently underrepresented in the field of mathematics are explicitly invited to apply.

Key responsibilities
As the holder of this position, you will:
  • Continue to develop original lines of research;
  • Perform light duties in our teaching program.

Qualifications
You are expected to have completed a PhD in mathematics before the starting date of the position. A good command of the English language will be necessary, together with the communication and collaboration skills required to execute your project. 

Employment conditions 
The intended starting date for this two-year position is September 1st 2023, but this is flexible. You will be appointed in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. The gross monthly salary is between € 2,960.- and € 4,670.- (scale 10) depending on your qualifications and experience. Funding is also available to support travel to conferences and workshops abroad.
