The Department
of Mathematics at Texas
Christian University (TCU) invites
applications for an Instructor position beginning August 2022. The position is
ongoing and the appointment renewable. Requirements include eligibility to work
in the U.S. and (1) a Master’s degree in
Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science or (2) a Ph.D. in
Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science. A Ph.D. and
ability to teach elementary statistics are preferred. Duties will be teaching
four undergraduate courses per semester and a modest amount of department and
university service. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is required, and professional
development should continue. Research is welcomed, but not required nor
expected.
Founded
in 1873, TCU is a secular institution of approximately 11,000 students with a
faculty devoted to excellence in teaching. TCU
prioritizes diversity and inclusion in students, staff, and faculty; highly
engaged and interdisciplinary learning; and community engagement. The
Department of Mathematics has 18 full-time faculty members, approximately 125
majors, and a small graduate program. The university is located within the
Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a vibrant metropolitan area of about 8 million
people.
