The Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR) of Heidelberg University invites applications for a

Full Professorship (W3 with endowment) in Scientific Computing

at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, to start at the earliest possible date. The successful candidate will have a research record of international standing in model-based optimization with strong connections to applications. Their field of expertise will complement our existing strengths and offer opportunities for collaboration. We seek to fill the position with an outstanding scientist. Exceptionally qualified candidates at an earlier career stage will also be considered.

Applicants should have outstanding qualifications in research and teaching. We expect active participation in the Heidelberg Graduate School of Mathematical and Computational Methods for the Sciences (HGSMathComp). The duties include teaching in the bachelor and master programs of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. Prerequisites for application are a university degree and doctoral degree and (in accordance with Article 47, paragraph 2 of the Higher Education Law of the state of Baden-Württemberg) a Habilitation, a successfully evaluated junior/assistant professorship or equivalent qualifications. The faculty intends to increase the number of women in teaching and research; female candidates are therefore explicitly encouraged to apply.
