| The Department of Mathematics at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology invites applications for a full time position of instructor of Mathematics. The teaching load for this position includes 3 courses per semester (usually from College Algebra,
Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1,2,3) and supervising graduate teaching assistants in the trigonometry and Pre-Calculus lab sections. Minimum requirements are a PhD in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or the equivalent, a strong record of teaching excellence, and good communication skills. We are looking for someone with an instructional philosophy that supports a goal of success for all students through active learning experiences and strong faculty involvement (indicated by at least two current letters of recommendation). Someone with innovative, creative teaching and learning methodologies for post-secondary students, and a commitment to teaching and relating to students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
New Mexico Tech offers Bachelors in Mathematics, Masters Degrees with specializations in analysis, operations research and statistics, and industrial mathematics and has a PhD program in applied and industrial mathematics.
