Non-tenure-track 9-month positions in Mathematics and Statistics

The University of South Alabama Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for two non-tenure-track, continuing, 9-month Instructor/Assistant Professor positions in Mathematics and Statistics, starting August 15, 2018.  

The Instructor/Assistant Professor positions are renewable subject to annual review and evaluation and the needs of the University. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will involve advising, course development, committee service, and other teaching-related activities.

Applicants  must have at least a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline for the rank of Instructor. A doctoral degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field is required for the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching and teaching-related activities. Applications should be submitted online at and should include a cover letter, vita, unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts, three recommendation letters, and a statement of teaching philosophy. Review of applications will begin on January 9, 2018, and continue until the positions are filled. We cannot accept applications submitted directly to department faculty.   

Applicants invited for an interview will be asked to complete their applications by arranging for three original signed letters of recommendation and official graduate and undergraduate transcripts from all colleges/universities attended to be sent by mail directly to the department.
