The Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of William H. Kruskal Instructor. We seek recent or expected Ph.D. graduates doing advanced research with a connection to applied mathematics, computational mathematics, or statistical methodology. It is expected that all successful applicants will engage in teaching up to three courses in statistics or applied mathematics. The position is for two years, with the possibility of renewal.

At the time of appointment, successful applicants must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, or a related field. Demonstrated research excellence is essential, and research interests related to those of faculty in the Department of Statistics ( or those of faculty in the newly formed Committee on Computational and
Applied Mathematics (http:\\ is preferred.
