The Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of William H. Kruskal Instructor. We seek recent or expected Ph.D. graduates doing advanced research with a connection to statistical theory, methodology and applications, probability theory, machine learning, or data science. Kruskal Instructor responsibilities include engagement in independent research and teaching up to three quarter-long courses per year in statistics or related fields. The position is for two years, with the possibility of renewal. The University of Chicago has the highest standards for scholarship and faculty quality, is dedicated to fundamental research, and has an inherently inter-disciplinary structure that is very supportive of newly emerging research opportunities. Qualifications

Completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related field by the time of hire.
