Assistant Professor of Mathematics & Statistics

The Department of Quantitative Sciences at Canisius College invites applications for a tenure-track position in its Mathematics & Statistics Program.  The position, pending final budgetary approval, is to be at the assistant professor level, to begin in Fall 2022.

A PhD in Mathematics or Statistics (ABD considered), as well as a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research in a liberal arts setting, is essential. The department will consider any area of expertise in Statistics or a related fields.  Canisius College has recently launched a Master’s degree program in Data Analytics and a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, the successful candidate will play an integral role in these programs’ growth and development.

Canisius College strongly values teaching excellence as well as research scholarship. The faculty members in our department are active researchers who publish articles and books on a regular basis, and we expect the new member to have his or her own on-going research program. In the recent past, the department has run highly innovative programs of undergraduate research, including an NSF-sponsored REU, titled Geometry and Physics on Graphs.
