The Department of Mathematics at Tarleton State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in fall 2018 at our Stephenville campus.  Our faculty is highly focused on teaching and maintains active research agendas in pure and applied mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, and data science.  The successful candidate will be expected to excel in teaching, develop a vigorous research program that includes undergraduate research, and establish a strong record of service to the university.

A doctorate degree in mathematics or statistics awarded before the beginning of the fall 2018 semester is required.  Preference will be given to candidates specializing in probability and statistics, operations research, actuarial science, or computational mathematics.  Particular attention will be given to candidates who can contribute to our M.S. in applied mathematics via background in data science, simulation, parallelized algorithms, or similar computer aided mathematics.
