(third party funding limited until 31.07.2025) Job description: - scientific services in research in the department "Mathematical Optimization for Machine Learning" - application tailored development of first-order mathematical optimization algorithms for machine learning - extending the scope of the above algorithms to constrained settings and generic problem instances using multiple machine learning models - development of open-source tools for multi-objective machine learning - applications include energy markets and imaging - testing and benchmarking multiple machine learning models and solvers for application specific tasks - tasks for own scientific qualification (doctoral degree) Requirements: - completed university degree in engineering, computer science or
mathematics - reasonable knowledge of mathematical optimization (both theory and
implementation) - basic knowledge of open-source packages and tools related to machine
