Applications are invited for the Britton Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McMaster University. These fellowships, which are named after our former colleague Dr F Ronald Britton, provide opportunities to engage in research in mathematics and/or statistics, with a limited amount of teaching, and are particularly suitable for talented mathematicians or statisticians who have recently completed their PhD. Positions are tenable for two or three years, depending on the research project and the available funding. To learn more about the department, please visit our web page.

The Fellowships are open to exceptional candidates of any nationality. Selection will be based upon the candidate's research potential and fit with one of the active research groups in the Department.  The fellowships normally start September 1, 2018 and provide an annual stipend salary of $50000 together with a grant for research travel expenses.

Candidates are required to apply for these fellowships by using the MathJobs website by January 1, 2018. See our advertisement at

Applicants should provide at least three letters of recommendation. At least one of these letters should report on the candidate's teaching abilities. Preferably these letters will be submitted through the MathJobs website (see above); they may also be sent directly to:
