The Department of Mathematics of the University of Hartford is accepting applications for Two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to begin in August 2018. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Data Science, Complex Analysis, Probability, Algebra, Number Theory and their applications, but candidates in all areas of the mathematical sciences will be considered. An earned doctorate in mathematics, applied mathematics or related areas is required; ABDs will be considered providing they document a degree completion date. The Department of Mathematics serves a large number of students in the College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture as well as majors in mathematics, the sciences and pre-medical programs. Normal teaching load is 3 courses per semester. Class sizes are relatively small. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and to scholarly activity. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching. There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative, University Interdisciplinary Studies (UIS) curriculum. Candidates with a demonstrated ability to contribute to the university’s commitment to diversity are strongly encouraged to apply.
