Assistant Professor of Mathematics

St. Norbert College, located in northern Wisconsin, welcomes applications for a full-time, tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning in August, 2018. Applicants should hold a doctorate in applied mathematics at the time of the appointment. Responsibilities include teaching, academic advising, scholarly activity, and collegial activities. The teaching load is three four-credit undergraduate courses each semester (typically nine 60-minute classes per week).

The St. Norbert College Mathematics Department (www.snc.edu/math) prides itself on excellent teaching and collaborative student-faculty research. Mathematics students give presentations at regional and national meetings and write articles for an in-house mathematics journal. In addition to teaching introductory math courses, the successful candidate would teach advanced courses in applied mathematics, including one or more of numerical analysis, mathematical modeling, applied linear algebra, and/or partial differential equations depending on the candidate’s interests and/or specialty. The successful candidate would be expected to continue a program of scholarly research, and would be expected to eventually mentor undergraduate research projects and contribute to the curriculum of a growing applied mathematics undergraduate program.
