Saint Louis University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The position will begin in August, 2023. We will begin reviewing applications on January 3, 2023 and continue until the position is filled.

Ph.D. required in Mathematics or a related area. The department seeks candidates with outstanding potential in both research and teaching, who will contribute to the overall strength of the department. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to enhance established research groups at SLU. The department is especially interested in candidates whose research program also has an applied, statistical, geospatial, or computational component.

The specific duties of this appointment are teaching 2 courses per semester, maintaining an active research program, and integrating into the academic life of the department and university.

Our department currently consists of twenty-four faculty members whose research areas include algebra, analysis, geometry, topology, probability, and statistics. The department has undergraduate majors in mathematics and data science, and offers graduate master's and doctoral degrees in mathematics.

Applications must include: CV, statement of research interests, teaching statement, and three letters of recommendation (including at least one that addresses teaching).
