Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position in discrete mathematics / theoretical computer science starting September 1, 2021. Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Andreas S. Schulz.
More information about the host group can be found at https://www.or.tum.de.
It is expected that candidates hold a Ph.D. degree at the start of the fellowship. The doctoral degree may be either in mathematics or theoretical computer science. A background and interest in one of the following areas are desired:
- algorithmic game theory,
- algorithmic graph theory,
- approximation algorithms,
- computational complexity,
- combinatorial optimization,
- integer programming,
- machine learning,
- mathematical optimization,
- polyhedral combinatorics.
The successful candidate will have already demonstrated outstanding research abilities.
The position is for 12 months initially. Teaching is possible but not required. The fellowship will provide an annual stipend of at least EUR 30,000 plus a travel allowance. The Technical University of Munich also offers various services for postdocs: https://www.tum.de/en/research/postdocs/.
Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, sample of written work, and three reference letters (to be sent directly by the reference writers to or@tum.de).
The deadline for applications is July 7, 2021. Submit the application letter, CV, and writing sample in one pdf file to or@tum.de.
