Position Description:    

Washburn University's Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for the position of Lecturer beginning August 2018. This position is a full-time 9-month, non-tenure track appointment as a Lecturer. Salary range: $39,500 - $40,500. Washburn University is dedicated to the highest level of instruction. Required qualifications: •Master’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, or related field by date of hire, including at least 18 graduate hours in the mathematical sciences •Experience and demonstrated success in teaching college-level mathematics and/or statistics

Preferred qualifications: •Experience and demonstrated success in teaching college pre-calculus level courses •Experience and demonstrated success using innovative teaching strategies such as co-requisite support, flipped classrooms, interactive computer labs, individual-paced instruction •Experience using technology in instruction •Experience teaching a course in quantitative reasoning •Experience teaching online courses

Responsibilities: • As part of a 12-credits-per-semester teaching load, the position comprises teaching a variety of pre-calculus level courses, introductory statistics courses, and or math labs • Availability to teach an occasional evening class • Teaching-related departmental service expected • Maintain on campus office hours
