The position is planned for a period of two years with a possibility of extension for one extra year. Preferred starting date is the first half of 2019 and can be negotiated.

The position is funded by the FWF Stand-Alone project "Macdonald polynomials and related structures in geometry".
The main topics of the project are:

2) Affine and double affine Hecke algebras, elliptic Hall algebras, A_{q,t} algebra and their representations
3) Skein algebras and representations of quantum groups
4) Homological knot invariants
5) Cohomology of affine Springer fibers, Higgs moduli spaces and character varieties
6) Various versions of Hilbert schemes
