The Division of Computing, Analytics and Mathematics (CAM) invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in Statistics at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, starting in Fall 2023. Strong candidates in all areas of Statistics/Bio-Statistics will be considered. The successful candidates will be expected to (1) have a strong commitment to teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, especially in Statistics and Probability; (2) supervise Ph.D. students; (3) develop and sustain an extramurally funded research program; (4) engage in departmental, school, or university services appropriate to the position; and (5) demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Preferences will be given to candidates with a high potential to collaborate with faculty in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.

CAM is one of the four divisions in the new School of Science and Engineering (SSE) established through UMKC Forward, a university initiative to create multidisciplinary learning, academics, research, and outreach. CAM offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science (ABET-accredited), Information Technology (ABET-accredited), and Mathematics, MS degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, and Statistics, and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Networking and Communication Systems, Computer Science, and Mathematics/Statistics. These programs foster an open, collaborative research and education environment. Most recently, CAM has received a $3M NSF NRT grant and an $879K CDC grant.

CAM is instrumental to the University of Missouri System's NextGen Data Science and Analytics Innovation Center (dSAIC), which supports university research across the state and plays a critical role in the region's health, business, and workforce development. dSAIC is based at UMKC and operates in partnership with the University of Missouri-Columbia.

SSE recently added a new $40M ($23M building and $17M equipment), 58,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility to support multidisciplinary education, research, and economic development initiatives. Some of the key components of this new facility are AR/VR Lab, Innovation Studio & 3D Printing Lab, and High-Performance Computing Lab.

Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Statistics/Bio-Statistics or a closely related discipline prior to the start date.

Full Time/Part Time Full-time, 9-month, benefit-eligible, ranked tenure-eligible academic faculty position starting in Fall 2023

Salary Salary is negotiable and commensurate with rank, credentials, and experience.
