North Carolina State University's Department of Mathematics is looking for a candidate to further the academic research in applied mathematics and scientific computation under the supervision of Dr. Alina Chertock.

The candidate will conduct research in applied mathematics and scientific computing as well as to teach two to three courses per academic year as needed and assigned by the department. The duties will be split 50% in research and 50% in teaching. The candidate is expected to continue active research in the area of applied mathematics and scientific computing; to broaden the research areas by collaborating with the faculty at NCSU; participate in departmental research activities such as seminars; present research findings in national and international meetings such as SIAM and AMS as well as in the local level. The appointee will be expected to publish their research findings in national and international journals.

The Department of Mathematics prefers a candidate with previous teaching experience and will have a Ph.D. prior to the job start date in the appropriate field awarded, but no more than five years from the start date of this appointment.
