INDIANA UNIVERSITY BLOOMINGTON DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS LECTURER

The Department of Mathematics seeks applications for a Lecturer who will initially serve as the course coordinator for M106: The Mathematics of Decision and Beauty. The position begins August 1, 2019. Applicants must have mathematics training equivalent to that required for the M.A. degree in Mathematics at Indiana University, with Ph.D. preferred, and one year experience teaching university-level mathematics beyond graduate-student teaching assistantships preferred. The teaching load for a lecturer in mathematics is six courses per year. While coordinating M106, the teaching load is five courses per year with additional administrative duties including supervision and coordination of the graduate student led sections of M106, development of activities and materials for M106, and development of a Canvas course template for M106. In the longer term, we expect the person hired in this position to help the department develop Canvas course templates for additional departmental courses, especially our service courses.
