The Department of Mathematics at the University of Denver invites applications for a postdoctoral Visiting Assistant Professor position in mathematics to begin in the fall of 2018. This is a non tenure-track position that may be renewed for a maximum of three years. The successful candidate will teach five undergraduate courses over three quarters during the 9-month academic year and is expected to conduct high quality research. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests have some overlap with those of the permanent faculty members. Active areas of research include functional analysis, operator theory, noncommutative geometry, number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, probability, statistical physics, algebraic logic, set theory, nonassociative algebra, representation theory, topological dynamics, and ergodic theory. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics completed between May 1, 2012 and September 1, 2018. Experience in teaching college mathematics and evidence of research ability and potential are also required.
