The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Florida (UNF) invites applicants to apply for the Director of Math Center position. As one of the largest departments at UNF the Department has over 30 faculty members and offers several undergraduate and graduate programs of study. Our students are able to pursue the following degrees; B. S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Discrete Analysis and a B.A. in Mathematics, Statistics, and Applied Mathematics. In addition, the Department offers a graduate degree of Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences with both Mathematics and Statistics tracks. At minimum, the candidate must have a master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related areas completed by the time of appointment. Candidates will be expected to provide a demonstration of teaching effectiveness in teaching lower-division math/statistics courses, capacity to develop solid administrative skills including personnel management, budgeting, scheduling, and the ability to work effectively with faculty and staff across UNF. The successful candidate must possess the interpersonal skills to communicate and establish effective working relationships with individuals of varying skill levels, cultural backgrounds and perspectives, which includes the interpersonal skills to work effectively and collegially with other staff and with supervisors.
