Description:

This Postdoctoral Research Associate will work with Dr. Gajamannage whose research interests encompass Dimensionality Reduction, Machine Learning, Network Analysis, and Deep Learning. Specifically, in this project, the candidate is required to develop novel Nonlinear Dimensionality Reduction algorithms for both high-dimensional and big data. The candidate will also utilize low-rank Matrix Completion techniques to recover corrupted social networks, sensor networks, and neural networks and then analyze characteristics of them.

Responsibilities: 
  • Develop Nonlinear Dimensionality Reduction algorithms for both high-dimensional and big data. 
  • Utilize low-rank Matrix Completion techniques for network analysis. 
  • Implement methods and algorithms to real-world datasets/systems. 
  • Write, review, and edit research articles, and present research on conferences.
  •  Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 
  • Doctoral Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or closely related field.
  • Background in one or more fields of Dimensionality Reduction, Machine Learning, Network Analysis, and Deep Learning. 
  • Excellent communication skills and to be able to work well both independently and in a collaborative team environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:  
  • Experience working with faculty, fellow postdocs, undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Proficient in Python and/or MATLAB.
