The School of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Mathematics, to begin fall of 2021. Lake Superior State University is committed to providing high quality learning experiences for under served populations such as first-generation or Pell-grant eligible students. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong interest in and ability for teaching students at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum including general education, developmental, and service courses. Applicants must possess a Master’s degree or higher in mathematics or statistics. Graduate coursework in probability and statistics is desired. To apply, candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, unofficial transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and a teaching statement describing their experience and interest in teaching undergraduate mathematics. Successful applicants will work with colleagues to deliver at least 12 credit hours of high quality instruction per semester. Lake Superior State University is situated on the Saint Mary’s River at the eastern end of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Lakes Michigan, Huron, and Superior are all within an hour’s drive of the university campus. |
