The Department of Mathematics at NYIT’s Manhattan campus is hiring for a tenure-track position in Applied Mathematics at the Assistant Professor level to begin Fall, 2018. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics is required. Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and should have a clear research plan and a record of research activities that shows promise for publication. Postdoctoral experience and a potential for securing external grant is preferred.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate mathematics courses offered to Architecture and Engineering majors, including but not limited to, PreCalculus, Calculus I, II and III, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Probability Theory, Statistical Analysis; ability to use multimedia and other technologies as needed; advise students in the Mathematics minor and various other technical majors including Architecture, Engineering, and Electrical Engineering; participate in course and program development; scholarly and professional development activities; perform university and community service; and perform other duties as assigned by the Chair. Projected starting date is Fall 2018 with primary teaching responsibilities at the Manhattan campus, and with possible, occasional teaching in Old Westbury.
