The School of Mathematical and Data Sciences at West Virginia University invites applications for a position at the rank of Teaching Instructor. The initial term is for one-year, renewable thereafter in terms of up to three years contingent upon performance. This position is responsible for teaching up to eight courses or course equivalents per year at the undergraduate level in the area of Mathematics. Courses may include but are not limited to algebra, trigonometry, and calculus.

Most of the courses will be taught within the Institute of Math Learning (IML), an academic unit in the School of Mathematical and Data Sciences, and utilize technological tools such as computer-based testing, spreadsheets and other applications to support instruction.

WVU is the academic home to 30,000 students and is a R1 research land grant university located within 90 minutes of Pittsburgh and 3.5 hours from the Washington/Baltimore area. Applicants must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related area. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of evidence of ability to provide excellent instruction at the undergraduate college or university level in conventional settings as well as online/hybrid learning environments and the ability to work with colleagues in a collaborative teaching environment to implement innovative instructional methodologies in high enrollment, coordinated courses.
