The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for Visiting Assistant Professor positions (non-tenure track) to start September 1, 2018; one or more appointments may be made as Marshall H. Stone Visiting Assistant Professor, with a reduced teaching load and an enhanced research fund. Candidates should have completed the Ph.D. by the beginning of the appointment. The initial appointment is for one year and is ordinarily renewable for two additional years. Exceptional promise in research and a commitment to outstanding teaching at all levels of the curriculum are expected. The search will encompass the following areas: Algebra and Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry, Analysis and Partial Differential Equations, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Dynamical Systems, Differential Geometry and Topology, Mathematical Physics, Probability, Representation Theory and Lie Theory, and Statistics.
