Up to two postdoctoral positions are available in the string and quantum field theory group in Taipei, possibly with a joint appointment at the University of Amsterdam. The appointment will initially be for two years with the possibility to extend to the third year. The postdoctoral researcher will be hosted by the Institute of Mathematics of Academia Sinica and supervised by Prof. Miranda C. N. Cheng, together with Prof. Yu-Tin Huang of National Taiwan University. Other faculty members of the group include Profs. Daniel Baumann, Heng-Yu Chen and Pei-Ming Ho. Those interested should send their applications before 15 December 2022, but late applications might still be considered until all positions are filled. 

 

The salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s research experience. Reasonable travel and research funds are available. Taiwan provides excellent universal health insurance. Taipei has direct flights to many international destinations, including but not limited to most major cities in East Asia. The institute is located in the main campus of National Taiwan University in the city center. As a metropolis it enjoys a vibrant city life. Skills in local languages such as Mandarin are not required and not necessary for daily life in Taipei. Additional information can be found on the Institute's website.
