The Department of Mathematics and the Department of Applied Math and Computational Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania solicit applications for a postdoctoral fellow.

The candidate is expected to carry on an active research agenda. Fellows will work mostly independently; however, connections and possible collaboration with Penn research faculty will be taken into consideration when reviewing applications. Research areas of interest include probability theory, numerical analysis and applied analysis.

The prospective applicant should have completed his/her Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics. The teaching duties for this position are one course per semester. The ideal candidate should be comfortable teaching both probability and numerical analysis at the graduate level.

The initial appointment will be for a term of one year, with the expectation of renewal for an additional year. The annual salary and benefits are competitive, and the position includes annual discretionary funds for travel or supplies (computers etc.).
