Professional-Track Instructor

 

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina-Columbia invites applications for 7 full-time FTE Instructor position in the Department of Mathematics. This is a 9-month appointment and is a non-tenure track appointment, renewable based on Dean’s approval, satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding. The successful candidate is expected to teach 100 and 200 level courses, including first year calculus and precalculus courses.  Applicants must have a minimum of a M.S. degree, Ph.D. preferred, in Mathematics or Mathematics Education and demonstrated excellence in teaching.  The expected teaching load is 4-4. However, course releases may be given based on additional service in the Department, College, and University.

The Mathematics Department (http://www.math.sc.edu/), located in the heart of the historic campus, currently has 33 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 5 instructors, 46 graduate students, over 180 majors, and 40 minors.
