This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with the Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) agreement.

Position The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for a Max Wyman Assistant Professorship in any area of pure and applied mathematics. The position has a 3-year fixed-term appointment and is non-tenure track. The successful candidate will be able to apply for grant funding, establish a research program in an excellent research environment, and develop their teaching portfolio with a teaching load of 2 courses per year. The start date of the position is July 1, 2023.

Applicants must have a PhD in pure or applied mathematics (or equivalent), demonstrated accomplishments and outstanding promise in research in any area of pure or applied mathematics, as well as a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. Priority may be given to applicants whose research is likely to enhance existing research groups in the Department.
