The Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University invites applications for several two year postdoctoral positions, with preference for candidates in the areas listed below. The positions carry a 2-1 teaching load, and in addition to research will involve mentoring of undergraduate research via the Iowa State Math Research Team (ISMaRT) program. Candidates should submit a cover letter specifying area below, CV, research summary, teaching statement, and three letters of recommendation, one of which should focus on teaching, to MathJobs. * Differential geometry, control theory, Lie groups/representation theory, quantum theory

* Numerical analysis (computational fluid dynamics and interface problems)

* PDE and Statistics (Applications to Math Biology and Language Dynamics)

* Algebraic geometry (applications to math biology)

* Mathematical biology

* Harmonic analysis (both abstract and applied)

* Applied combinatorics and discrete geometry

* Combinatorics (1-1 teaching load, up to 3 year position) [NSF Funded requires US citizen or permanent resident]
