The University of Wisconsin River Falls, a member of the University of Wisconsin System, is located in scenic west central Wisconsin, 30 miles from the multi-cultural, multi-ethnic cities of Minneapolis and St Paul. UWRF's undergraduate and graduate students pursue degrees in four colleges: Arts and Sciences, Education and Professional Studies; Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences; and Business and Economics.

The Position: 
This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics (within the College of Arts & Sciences). Duties include teaching 12 credits per semester, collaboration in mathematics curriculum development and research, supervision of undergraduate research and internships, scholarly publications, grants, campus-wide and departmental service, and academic advising. Starting salary in the low $60,000’s. Anticipated appointment date: August 21, 2023. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 
Teach undergraduate courses in mathematics. 

Advise mathematics majors and minors, and support students pursuing careers in mathematical fields.

Engage in research and scholarly activity in mathematics/mathematics education and supervise undergraduate research and internships.

Provide service to the department, college and university. 

Qualifications Required: 
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in mathematics or a closely related field, from an accredited institution. Graduate work must include a strong background in algebra, geometry or probability. ABD considered, but doctorate must be completed by time of hire. 

Evidence of excellence in teaching college level mathematics courses. 

Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional activity to keep current in the field of algebra, geometry or probability. 

Experience or interest in directing undergraduate research or career/internship advising. 

Potential for collaboration in research and/or curriculum development with faculty from within and outside the department. 

Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations. 

Qualifications Preferred: 
Experience using software tools to support teaching mathematics.
