Applications are invited for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level starting in August 2021. The requirements for the position include a doctoral degree or a doctoral degree expected by no later than July 2021 in statistics (with focus on data science, data analytics, informatics with a dissertation focusing on data science), a commitment to effective graduate and undergraduate teaching, and demonstrated success in research. Essential duties and responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses, providing direction and effective leadership for M.S. and Ph.D. students, developing a substantial research program in any areas of statistics, which may include but not limited to big data, data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science related topics, and engaging in departmental, university, and scientific community service functions. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Candidates in any area of statistics with a strong interest in problems associated with Big Data are encouraged to apply.
