The WPI Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for postdoc positions in statistics, to begin in the Fall of 2019. All areas of statistics are welcome. The successful applicants are expected to work with the statistics faculty in the department and develop a robust research program, and contribute to the teaching mission of the department. Candidates will also have the opportunity to contribute to WPI’s growing interdisciplinary programs, in particular to the Data Science Program and to the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology program. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Statistics, or related area. The appointment will be for up to three years with annual renewal based on satisfactory performance. Qualified applicants should submit (1) a curriculum vitae (2) a teaching essay (3) a statement of research objectives that includes a section on how the applicant's research would benefit from the department's research activities and identifies potential collaborators or mentors within the department (4) four letters of recommendation, at least one of which addresses teaching experience or potential.
