Oregon State University Department of Mathematics invites applications for one or more Visiting Assistant Professor (Postdoc) positions commencing September 16, 2018, pending approval of funding. These will be fixed term, 12-month appointments with the possibility of one subsequent one-year appointment depending on availability of funding and performance. Salary is commensurate with experience. A PhD in mathematics obtained after September 16, 2013, is required by the time of appointment. Priority will be given to applicants with research interests that mesh well with those of current faculty. Specific research interests of faculty are listed at:

The successful candidate should have strong accomplishments or promise in both research and teaching, and must value working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds. Applicants must submit the following: American Mathematical Society cover sheet; cover letter for the application describing experience, qualifications, interests, and evidence of teaching excellence; curriculum vita; statement of research objectives identifying potential collaborators within the OSU faculty; statement of teaching objectives; three letters of reference, at least one of which addresses the applicant's teaching ability or potential.
