Visiting Assistant Professor Description The Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics (ACMS) at the University of Notre Dame is seeking applications for an actuary-in-residence to significantly elevate the University’s actuarial program. Notre Dame students are second to none in the skills needed to excel in the actuarial profession. Combining our students, strong institutional support, and the renowned Notre Dame community, there is no limit to the quality of actuarial program that a leader can create. Duties will include teaching two courses per semester, preparing students for exams, organizing student projects, enhancing the Notre Dame network in the actuarial profession, and other activities designed to develop the skills of actuarial studies students. The University of Notre Dame offers an undergraduate minor in actuarial science completed by majors in ACMS, Math, Finance and others. We will begin reviewing completed applications on February 5, 2020, and will continue accepting applications until the position is filled. Qualifications Candidates should possess actuarial credentials (Associate or Fellow) in any actuarial professional organization and a degree (M.S. preferred) in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or a closely related field. Fellowship and experience in educational programs are preferred. The successful applicant will be a full-time visiting assistant professor in ACMS for two years beginning August 2020.
