The initial contract will be for one year, which can be extended for up to two more years upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (by August 2024), and have a strong background in computational mathematics. The postdoc will collaborate with Dr. Jonathan Hauenstein on research projects involving nonlinear equations. Candidates who have interests in working on projects related to any of the following fields are in particular encouraged to apply: computational methods and applications of solving nonlinear equations, numerical algebraic geometry, optimization, kinematics and robotics, and machine learning. The candidate may also teach courses in applied mathematics and statistics at all levels.
