Harpur College of Arts and Sciences seeks to appoint a lecturer to teach in Binghamton's new and rapidly expanding Digital & Data Studies minor, to begin in Fall of 2023. The minor combines skill development in programming, data science, and other digital technologies with a focus on social justice and critical data studies. Digital & Data Studies is designed to be accessible, inclusive, and relevant to students regardless of major, prior computational experience, and professional aspirations. A successful candidate should hold a PhD or another terminal degree in any discipline in the arts, humanities, social sciences, or sciences, and ideally have experience teaching digital humanities, critical data studies, or data science in a liberal arts context. The lecturer will be appointed to one of the college's departments, as appropriate to their field of study and experience.
