The University of Melbourne's School of Mathematics and Statistics is one of Australia's leading mathematics and statistics schools. It has achieved this status through the high quality of its research and teaching programs. The School offers a wide range of subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students and is involved in aspects of community life that impact on the interests of the School and the discipline.
This Research Fellow will be expected to work closely with A/Prof Diarmuid Crowley and Dr Johannes Nordström (University of Bath), on the Australian Research Council (ARC) funded research program on Topology in Seven Dimensions through its Discovery Project scheme. While the research program is guided by a set of research questions, there will be considerable scope for this Research Fellow to develop their own ideas within a broader research agenda.
To be considered for this position you will have a PhD or equivalent research higher degree in mathematics and demonstrated research excellence with regard to career stage.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 2.5 years.
