The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a non-tenure track lecturer. The hiring will potentially support degrees in Mathematics, Mathematics and Computer Science, Computational and Applied Math, Statistics, or Data Science. The successful applicant should have a MS or PhD in Statistics or Mathematics, and should have a demonstrated ability to teach courses in statistics and mathematics to a broad cross-section of a technological University as well as the Department’s own majors. Successful candidates will demonstrate an enthusiasm for undergraduate and graduate education and a strong commitment to cultivating diverse and inclusive learning environments.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences has 35 faculty members with interests in statistics, probability, computational mathematics, combinatorics, algebra, and number theory. It offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in both Statistics and Mathematics. The department enrolls about 120 undergraduate students and 70 graduate students, and plays a key role in the university's interdisciplinary programs in Data Science and in Computational Science and Engineering.
