The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at John Carroll University invites applications for a visiting faculty position in Mathematics for the 2020-2021 academic year. Full consideration will be given to applications that are complete by March 15, 2020, although applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

The initial appointment will be for the 2020-2021 academic year (August 28, 2020, through May 23, 2021), but the position may be renewable for the 2021-2022 academic year subject to departmental needs and administrative approval. The teaching responsibility involves approximately 12 hours per semester, usually 3 to 4 courses.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science prides itself in offering a diverse selection of majors: Mathematics, Teaching Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Science with Healthcare Information Technology, and Data Science. Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related discipline by August 2020 is required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for excellence in the teaching of Mathematics in a liberal arts setting, have the ability to teach both introductory and upper-level courses, and be committed to working closely with students and faculty from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. Candidates should also be committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in the field of Mathematics.
