The Department of Mathematics in CUHK has developed a strong reputation in teaching and research. Many of the faculty members are internationally renowned and are recipients of prestigious awards and honours. The graduates are successful in both academia and industry. The Department is highly ranked internationally, e.g., it is 31st and 37th in the 2020 and 2021 QS World University Rankings, and 46th and 41st in the 2020 and 2021 US News Rankings,
respectively.
The Department is now inviting applications for substantiable-track faculty posts at all academic levels from Assistant Professor to Professor in all areas of Mathematics. Applicants should have (i) a relevant PhD degree; and (ii) good potential for research and teaching. Those with outstanding research accomplishments are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should arrange at least 3 reference letters, 2 on research and 1 on teaching, to be submitted by the reference writers.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2022, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
